About Nails and its Problems
Nails are the cover that protect the finger and toe nails. Nails, whether fingernails or toenails are made of a tough protein named Keratin. Nails grow and in humans the length of the index finger grows more than that of little finger. The nails grow at a rate 3mm per month and it’s been found that fingernails have four times higher growth than that of the toenails, medical problems.
Many people face finger nail problems that could be as explained below:
Besides, there are other finger nail problems one may face like, flat nails, brittle nails, blue nails, vertical splitting, white spots on nails etc. The person should take oral antifungal medication which would help in the treatment of nail fungus. - Toenail Trauma: Toenail trauma could include injuries like dropping heavy object over the toe, stubbing the toe or rubbing against the shoe when running or walking. It may cause fungal, bacterial infection or fracture of a bone beneath the nail.
